RADAR is a modern dance company located in Richmond, Virginia. The company has been dancing together since 2006, when they were known as Z Mullins Dance Company. In the summer of 2011, they came under new direction and decided to continue creating and performing work collaboratively as RADAR. Currently under the artistic direction of Laura Gorsuch and Kara Priddy, the company is comprised of professional dancers and educators who have been able to transfer their love and appreciation of dance and movement into fulfilling and successful careers. Throughout RADAR’s history, company members have worked all over the city in dance studios, private schools, community colleges, universities, physical therapy centers and numerous community art programs.

RADAR is incredibly honored to be nominated for Best Dance Company and Best Collaboration! We love and are passionate about dance and find the process of creating and performing rewarding in and of itself. That being said, having the Richmond community recognize us and our work in this way definitely enhances that reward! We are so grateful for the support and excited to be representing Richmond dance alongside so many other amazing dance companies!

A fun fact about RADAR is that we begin each season with a single idea that grows and develops into an evening length concert. We start by choosing a concept to explore, then each choreographer decides what facet of that concept they'd like to hone in on. Once the pieces are finished, we connect everything through movement, music, spoken word or film to create our final evening length concert, taking the audience on a journey of whatever that year's concept might be. We love how cohesive and intertwined the show feels and how deeply we can dive into each concept.
